Fountain Grating for an Interactive Water Feature

The Battery at SunTrust Park is a 60-acre, mixed-use development alongside the home of the Atlanta Braves. At the heart of the Battery is a centrally located plaza that includes a multi-level shade canopy with a suspended baseball sculpture over an interactive water feature. The landscape architecture firm, HGOR, and Aqua Underground appointed Hendrick to outfit the water feature with its award winning and proprietary Profile Bar grating.

The design features Hendrick’s curved B12 profile bar with 3/16” slot openings and contains support bars for increased strength. Hendrick manufactured custom pedestal supports and sub-frame support structure to meet the vehicular load requirements. All of the components were manufactured from 316 stainless steel for enhanced corrosion resistance. Profile Bar’s inherent flatness and eased edges guarantee the surface is safe for barefoot traffic.  Fabricated in 72 unique sections, the system incorporates multiple cutouts to flawlessly align with the interactive jet nozzles and under-mount lighting - making this water feature worthy of the hall of fame.
