Located at the upscale Westfield Valley Fair Shopping Mall in the heart of Silicon Valley, sits an exquisite parking structure. In collaboration with International Parking Design Incorporated, Hendrick Architectural manufactured the metal panels featured throughout the parking garage’s prominent façade.
The four-story, 2,000 space parking structure is outfitted with .190" thick aluminum panels. Randomly placed holes, ranging in size from 3" up to 11" in diameter and about a 30% open area, allow adequate ventilation and light transmission through the facade.
The panels were coated with a Kynar finish in Galaxy Silver. Adding an exclusive design element to the southwest corner of the structure, the garage also features a series of perforated metal panels that create a star-like pattern spanning the top half of the garage. The perforated sections of these panels contain 1.5" diameter holes on 2.5" straight centers and were coated in a pewter color.
