Perforated Metal Cladding Design for a Custom Boat House
Sunset Point Dock
Project Location: Orange Beach, AL
Perforation Pattern: .188" x 1" obround slot | 26% open area
Architect: Bayne Dickinson Architects
Off the coast of Orange Beach, Alabama sits an extraordinary boat house that shades a large, private vessel from direct sun exposure. In collaboration with Bayne Dickinson Architects, Hendrick supplied the perforated metal panels that outline the top and bottom of the 65 foot tall structure.
Made from 10 gauge stainless steel, the rubberized coated panels feature 3/16" by 1" obround slot perforations and a 26% open area. The perforated metal was mounted to the steel structure using hollo-bolts. Hendrick manufactured the panels to extremely tight tolerances, which was critical to ensuring a seamless installation process and creating a true, “work of art”.
