Perforated Metal Cladding in Ashburn, VA
Loudoun Station Ashburn North Garage
Project Location: Ashburn, VA
Perforation Pattern: 1" dia. holes | 23% open area
Architect: HGA & Walker Parking Consultants
Located in the heart of a rapidly expanding community is a mixed-use development in Loudoun County at the western terminus of the Metro Silver Line. The Ashburn North Garage anchors this area by providing 1500 parking spots and additional retail space. In collaboration with HGA and Walker Parking Consultants, Hendrick manufactured the perforated metal panels that prominently clad the 9-story structure.
Made of .190” thick aluminum, the panels feature a 1” diameter on 2” staggered center hole pattern. Concealed fasteners secure the cladding to the purlins framing. The perforated panels are finished in medium grey and silversmith, with a 70% PVDF coating to ensure the panels resist weathering.
