Metal Ventilation Grilles
St. Louis Art Museum
When architect HOK was developing plans for gallery space at the Saint Louis Art Museum, they turned to Hendrick Architectural for a unique product with a special function – complementing world class art. The St. Louis Art Museum, considered one of the country’s major museums – houses paintings, sculptures, cultural objects and ancient masterpieces. It is visited by a half million art lovers each year.
Hendrick’s metal floor grating was used in the galleries, with mounting brackets fitting into ventilation recesses that are painted black to be concealed. The grate design and finish were chosen to blend aesthetically into the room design and not distract from the main focus – the art. Hendrick Architectural used 304 stainless steel material with a one quarter inch slot to yield a fifty percent open area. The grates have a T16 profile and matte stainless-steel finish with concealed mounting brackets underneath.
Here’s what the project team said about Hendrick: “The customer support has been great across the board, from friendly and knowledgeable sales associates, to the design team asking the right questions to make sure we are getting exactly what we need. The communication level from Hendrick is outstanding.” The St. Louis Art Museum is one of many high-profile projects that has relied on Hendrick metal grilles, grate covers and other metal products for optimal functionality and decoration. Hendrick is proud to partner on culturally significant projects such as this – which have a positive impact on communities across the country.
